COMPUTER CLUB MEETING
December 7, 2007
Vice President Gary Puro opened the meeting. Acting Secretary Dolores Dewey read the Minutes. No corrections, vote to accept. Treasurer Ann Iverson reported income from dues $20.00, ink $5.00 and movie $29.00. Expense for ink, $10.00. New Balance, $1348.85. No corrections, vote to accept.
Ann Iverson announced that the Rincon Station P.O. employees will hold their Christmas Party in the Fiesta Room, tomorrow night. They will use our projector and sound system. She asked for volunteers to check occasionally and see if they need help with the video or audio. They pay for use of the equipment.
She then introduced the need for a new movie screen. The present one is tearing at the bottom. Discussion about screen size, upgrading to electric with remote and cost. Gary Puro asked Ann to coordinate with the Entertainer’s Club and the Park management about the purchase and bring back a report.
Janee Aronoff announced her retirement as Chairperson for the Dinner Committee, citing personal reasons. A motion was made to cancel the dinner, a vote was taken, the Nays prevailed. A sign up sheet was passed around and members designated the jobs they could perform to make the dinner a success. A motion was made to allow the members who worked, to eat without buying a ticket. Motion passed. A motion to amend the previous motion was made, “To restrict free meals to workers who put in long hours or do heavy lifting”. Motion passed.
Al Mendenhall reminded the members that use of the Club’s computer was restricted to club business. Ann Iverson encouraged attendance at the Movie tonight. Gary Puro passed out a Computer Club Program Survey that addressed meeting procedures, time length and program topics.
Janee Aronoff suggested providing ac hookups with surge protectors for use by laptop users at meetings. A motion to allow Margaret Innes to purchase 4 surge controls and 4 extension cords was made and passed. Glenn Butler donated 2 ink cartridges o the club. Julian Babad ask for help with an operating system problem He was told to use “System Restore” and assured it would not delete any recent data. More scam warnings.
